Background

Sandra is a heritage consultant and co-director of Studio Doma, bringing several years of experience working across heritage consulting, research and advisory roles.

She specialises in the preparation of Heritage Impact Statements and has contributed to projects of varied complexity across residential, commercial and mixed-use contexts.

Before establishing Studio Doma, Sandra worked on a broad range of heritage documentation, including Conservation Management Plans, Schedules of Conservation Work, Photographic Archival Recordings and Interpretation Strategies. Her experience also includes exposure to planning and appeal processes within statutory heritage and environmental frameworks.

With a Master of Museum and Heritage Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern History, Sandra brings a strong research foundation to her work. Her approach is shaped by detailed historical understanding, sensitivity to existing fabric and a commitment to retaining the character and significance of older places.

Sandra regularly collaborates with architects, planners and developers to integrate heritage considerations into early design stages. Her strategic advice is informed by a clear understanding of heritage approval pathways and the practical realities of working with existing buildings, ensuring outcomes that are both respectful and achievable.

She has a quiet appreciation for the details in old buildings — the textures, proportions and stories that often go unnoticed.
