Our work is grounded in statutory heritage frameworks and best-practice conservation principles, supporting projects that respect significance while allowing places to evolve.

We work across residential, commercial and civic contexts, offering clear advice, well-researched documentation and practical strategies for managing heritage constraints.

Heritage Advice & Feasibility

Heritage advice and feasibility services provide early-stage guidance on how heritage considerations affect a site and its development potential, including opportunities and constraints and likely approval pathways. This service is typically required when a project is at concept or pre-purchase stage and heritage implications need to be understood before design or acquisition decisions are made.

Heritage Due Diligence &
Pre-Purchase Advice

Heritage due diligence and pre-purchase advice provides early guidance on the heritage implications of a site prior to acquisition, identifying constraints, risks and approval considerations. This service is typically required when a property is being considered for purchase and heritage controls or potential heritage value may affect future development or use.

Heritage Planning Pathways

Heritage planning pathway advice provides clarity on approval processes and statutory requirements affecting development at heritage places. This service is typically required at early project stages to identify heritage constraints, relevant planning controls and appropriate approval pathways before design development or lodgement.

Site History & Heritage Significance

Site history research and heritage significance assessments establish an evidence-based understanding of a place and its cultural value over time. This service is typically required to support planning approvals, heritage listings or the preparation of heritage documentation where a clear understanding of a site’s history and significance is needed.

Curtilage Analysis

A curtilage analysis defines the extent of land associated with a heritage place that contributes to its significance, based on historical use, physical evidence and cultural relationships. This service is typically required when development is proposed on or near a heritage-listed item and the spatial extent of its heritage significance needs to be clearly understood.

Heritage Impact Assessment
(HIA)

A Heritage Impact Assessment evaluates the potential effects of a proposal on the heritage significance of a place, including impacts to fabric, setting and context. A heritage impact assessment is typically required when works are proposed to or near a heritage-listed place or within a Heritage Conservation Area, particularly where impacts may be complex or sensitive.

Demolition Report

A demolition report assesses the heritage implications of the proposed demolition of a building or structure, including its contribution to heritage significance and the impact of its removal. This service is typically required when demolition is proposed to a heritage-listed item, a contributory building within a Heritage Conservation Area, or a site with identified or potential heritage value.

Statement of Heritage Impact
(SOHI)

A Statement of Heritage Impact assesses how a proposed development or activity will affect the heritage significance of a place, and whether that impact is acceptable under relevant statutory controls. A SOHI is typically required when a development application or infrastructure proposal involves a heritage-listed item or land within a Heritage Conservation Area.

Conservation Management Plan
(CMP)

A Conservation Management Plan provides a long-term framework for the conservation, use and future development of a heritage place, based on an understanding of its cultural significance. A CMP is typically required when a heritage-listed place is subject to change, complex development proposals or long-term management planning.

Photographic Archival Recording
(PAR)

Photographic archival recording documents a place through a systematic photographic survey, creating a permanent visual record of its fabric, form and condition. This service is typically required when works are proposed that will alter or remove significant fabric, or where planning approvals require a record of a heritage place prior to change or demolition.

Heritage Interpretation

Heritage interpretation communicates the history and significance of a place to users and the wider community through considered content and integration with design outcomes. This service is typically required when a heritage place is undergoing change, adaptation or increased public use and interpretation is needed to support understanding of heritage values.
